Rev. Alonzo Adams, Jr., Pastor

Pastor Alonzo Adams Jr. was born and raised in Ferguson, Missouri. He is the son of Bishop Alonzo Adams Sr. and Sharon Adams. He was educated in the Ferguson-Florissant public school system in St. Louis Missouri. Pastor Alonzo Adams Jr. was called to preach at the tender age of 8. Immediately, he did not respond to the calling that God had on his life. He was a well-known drummer and bass guitar musician in the St Louis area where he completed the musical trio of the New Jerusalem Band along with his brother Alan (keys) and cousin Eric (drums). He continued his education and later graduated from McCluer High School, after which he joined the United States Navy.

He served as an Air Traffic Controller and supervisor at Naval Air Station Whiting Field (Milton FL). While on his first tour of duty he excelled as was selected for a commissioning opportunity through the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) in Newport Rhode Island. After completion of the officer training, he chose the University of Missouri-Columbia to attend with and be close to his family. It was during this time that Pastor met his wife and exchanged vows with his endless love.

He received his bachelors of Business at the University of Missouri Columbia while serving in the Navy in 2001. Pastor Adams was given the incredible opportunity to be a Naval Aviator. He went through the rigorous aviator training in Pensacola Florida and was trained in the T-34C and H-56. He received his Naval Aviator Wings and private pilot license for both fixed wing and helicopters in February 2004. He was ultimately placed in the HSL community flying the H-60B Seahawk with the World famous Swamp Foxes (HSL 44) stationed out of Mayport FL. He served this nation as a sailor and a pilot for 15 years, and then the tug of the Lord was drastically upon him to retire from that service to the Lord’s service in January of 2007.

After accepting the call into Ministry, he attended the St Louis Christian College and completed his second Bachelors in Theology, at Glad Tidings Bible College. In June 2015, he successfully completed his Masters of Divinity from Glad Tidings.

He has been and continues to be devoted to continuing the vision and legacy that his father began. As Solomon did for David, Pastor Adams is fulfilling the promise that God gave to Bishop Adams over 40 years ago. Pastor Adams has 4 children with his beautiful and gifted wife Ronica; Minister Akiel, Amariah, Alondra, and Alyana. These children are now an integral part of the ministry as he once was to his father’s ministry.
